Review – Illegal Contact (The Barons #1) by Santino Hassell

New York Barons tight end Gavin Brawley is suspended from the team and on house arrest after a video of him brawling goes viral. Gavin already has a reputation as a jerk with a temper on and off the field—which doesn’t help him once he finds himself on the wrong side of the law. And while he’s been successful professionally, he’s never been lucky when it comes to love.

Noah Monroe is a recent college grad looking for a job—any job—to pay off his mounting student debt. Working as Gavin’s personal assistant/babysitter seems like easy money. But Noah isn’t prepared for the electrifying tension between him and the football player. He’s not sure if he’d rather argue with Gavin or tackle him to the floor. But both men know the score, and neither is sure what will happen once Gavin's timeout is over…

Wow!!!!!!! Just…..Holy Amazeballs!!!!

Let me first start by saying that I have read a fair share of MM Romances and this one…this was everything. The story. The build up. These characters. And why the hell is this the first time I’ve heard of this amazingly talented author? His writing skills are top notch. And to find out he also writes PNR….HELLLLLLLOOOOOOO, score! You better believe I’ll be picking up more books from Mr. Hassell. And can we just drool over that cover please. I’m not trying to start anything, but that jawline sure looks like Mr. Hassell could be doing his own covers…”jus sayin'”

Gavin is a hard ass, both literally and figuratively. He’s the tight end for the new NFL team in NY and he’s gotten himself in to trouble. Again. But this time, he’s been caught on tape and can’t exactly get himself out of this one. And all to protect his friend. So now what? He’s on house arrest for 6 months and yep, he’s missing his season. They really know how to kick someone when they’re down. No worries though. He’s got a huge house, huge yard, huge pool, a private gym, no furniture, no food, no idea how to pay his bills and he can’t even leave the house to go to the grocery store. Piece of cake. Yeah, no. Time to hire a personal assistant. But considering he doesn’t like people, this is gonna be hard.

Noah needs a job, desperately. His father was recently let go from his job, so he’s moved in with pops to help him with the bills. Problem. Now Noah is out of a job as well. After being called back on a job he really isn’t qualified for, Noah finds himself face to face with not only one of the most important Reps in the sporting world, he’s actually speaking to one of the most successful self centered jocks in NY. Oh, and he’s hot as sin. Good thing Noah knows absolutely nothing about sports and pretty much insults his potential boss within the first 15 minutes of the interview. Yep. Back to the drawing board. Or is it?

These two. These two are everything. I love the banter between them. I love the no holds barred they both give and receive from each other. And the build up!!!! Good Lord. It made the relationship that much more for me. Each one of these guys possess their own issues, but together, they fit. And then we get to meet the other guys. Holy Moley. These team mates and best bros are awesome. Simeon!!! I need some Simeon in my life. I can’t wait to see where this author takes us next. I. Can’t. Wait!!!!
