A cleverly crafted short story, Scarlett Sanderson has brought what I am sure are many a romance author’s dreams to life.  We meet Evie, an erotic paranormal author who has been dreaming of Gabriel since she first spied on him when she was a child.  Using him as the inspiration for many of her heroes, the two have never spoken nor met.

Gabriel sent and invitation with costume and mask to Evie for his annual Christmas Ball. The offer was too good to pass up, and she wanted to see if the reality could possibly match her fantasies.  From the moment she enters, the pull between the two is palpable, instantly pulled into Gabriel’s circle Evie is both flattered and flummoxed.

When the reasons behind the urgency and importance of her invitation is revealed after an incredibly sensual dance and an even steamier sexual interlude in the library, the reasons behind Gabriel’s determined courting of Evie comes to light.

A quick and well written story that brings a new twist to a purely fantastical story, this is a great read for a quick break.
