Review: Kinky Sprinkles by L.A. Witt

Joel has finally walked away from his abusive ex and is ready to meet new people. But that isn’t easy for a guy who’s shy, self-conscious, and struggling with his body image.

Andre has wanted Joel since the first time he laid eyes on him, and finally Joel is single. But Andre is a Dom and a sadist, and Joel is unapologetically vanilla. There’s no happy medium—either Andre reins in the kinky side that took him years to accept, or Joel grits his teeth and subjects himself to kinks that aren’t his thing. No matter who bends, someone’s going to be unhappy.

They agree to walk away, but they keep circling back to each other. Though their kinks might not line up, the chemistry between them sizzles and the emotional connection keeps getting deeper. But none of that will get them anywhere if they can’t find some kind of middle ground in the bedroom.

I had to read this for the title alone. Kinky Sprinkles… how exactly does that play into this book. I was beyond curious. I do not read many BDSM books so if it was a phrase that is used within this genre that everyone else knows I was still beyond curious what role it had here. I love how the title was used in the book. It makes sense for what is going on with Joel’s life. The blurb spells it all out. Joel has finally gotten out of an abusive relationship and wants a vanilla sex life. Andre a Dom and a hard core sadist, and he wants Joel. I had to see how this was going to play out.

Andre to Joel “Either one of us is going to wind up doing things he’d rather not do, or the other is going to be missing things he wants to do.”

Changing for the love, affection, or attention of another is never a good idea. Wanting a partner to change for you is just as wrong. Joel and Andre both get this and fully understand it. This pleased me beyond measure. The thing with this book though is that they are so compatible together. They enjoy everything about the other. Their hook ups are hot, but they’re missing something that Andre truly enjoys. Joel isn’t a selfish man. He also knows exactly what he wants with the future he now has control of. They both know stepping away and finding someone who can meet all of their needs is the smartest thing to do, but their hearts are telling them something completely different.

Readers get a happy for now that totally works for these guys. While it is not something I would ever choose for myself it is something that works for them. Joel and Andre enjoy enough of what they have found with each other to talk it out, work it out, and figure it out. I love how it all came together for them.

About L.A. Witt

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who has finally been released from the purgatorial corn maze of Omaha, Nebraska, and now spends her time on the southwestern coast of Spain. In between wondering how she didn’t lose her mind in Omaha, she explores the country with her husband, several clairvoyant hamsters, and an ever-growing herd of rabid plot bunnies. She also has substantially more time on her hands these days, as she has recruited a small army of mercenaries to search South America for her nemesis, romance author Lauren Gallagher, but don’t tell Lauren. And definitely don’t tell Lori A. Witt or Ann Gallagher. Neither of those twits can keep their mouths shut…

Sounds interesting. I’m curious to find out how someone kinky & someone vanilla would work things out.
