Review: Leading Me Home (Harrington Hills #1) by Megan Linden

Pretending to date the guy he has a crush on? Kevin’s sure he’s heading for a disaster. A broken heart, at least.

Kevin has been a lone wolf almost his entire life and he’s comfortable with that. Now that he no longer works for the guy he hated, Kevin has only one problem—his crush on his neighbor and best friend.

Taylor is the Alpha’s Son, the heir to the Harrington Pack. He left his hometown and moved to San Francisco as a rite of passage, but it was always temporary, since his place is in Harrington Hills with his pack. Now Taylor is heading back home for a wedding and since his mother is threatening to set him up if he comes alone, he needs a date. Asking Kevin to be his pretend boyfriend sounds like a perfect solution.

What happens when they arrive in Harrington Hills and learn to see each other in a different light? With their relationship changing, can they drop the act and realize that what they have is real?

Kevin and Taylor are wolf shifters and best friends.  Kevin is a lone wolf with no pack affiliation and has been crushing on Taylor for a long time, but never has crossed that imaginary line. Taylor is the Alpha’s son, the heir to the Harrington Pack.  There is no question that at some point he will return home and take his rightful place in the pack, but for now, he wants to stay where he is, with Kevin.  When Taylor has to attend a wedding back home, his mother is threatening to set him up with a date for the occasion.  He decides to ask Kevin to come and pretend to be his boyfriend so Mom is happy and he doesn’t have to be set up with a blind date.  Kevin is wary. Can he do this? And at what cost to his heart? He decides he will take Taylor any way he can get him so he agrees to go.  They plan it all out-what can go wrong…..

This story was such an adorable read.  Both Kevin and Taylor were very likeable and I could feel their chemistry simmering just below the surface. There are a lot of issues that arise that these two have to sort through-most of all their growing feelings towards each other.  They have to strike a balance between where they need to be versus what the demands of the pack are.  Even though you know what is going to happen, I found their journey of enlightenment very enjoyable!
