Review: Leopard’s Fury (Leopard People #9) by Christine Feehan

A ruthless criminal unleashes his most feral desires in the new Leopard novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Wild Cat.

Passion melts the will of an ice-cold criminal when he meets the one woman who can tame the beast inside him.

Leopard’s Fury

With her own bakery in San Antonio, Evangeline Tregre made a new life far from the brutal lair of shifters she was born into. Though she is all too aware of her leopard-shifter blood, she never felt the sensation of a wild animal stirring inside her. Not until Alonzo Massi walked into her bakery. The powerful shifter is as irresistible as he is terrifying, but his icy demeanor tells her to keep her distance.

Alonzo knows better than to let himself get involved with someone like Evangeline. She doesn’t deserve the type of danger that follows him, or the threat of his Amur leopard. But even with his lean muscle and iron will, Alonzo isn’t strong enough to stay away from the one woman who can make him feel at peace. And when their secret lives draw a mortal threat, Alonzo unleashes the feral passion he keeps pent up inside himself.

300 Review

It been quite some time since I read anything by Christine Feehan and I really don’t know why. Her stories are amazing and I always have a hard time putting them down. Maybe that’s the reason why. So many sleepless nights just trying to squeeze in one more chapter. That’s exactly what happened when I read Leopard’s Fury. I just couldn’t put this book down.

If you don’t fall instantly in love with the heroine in Leopard’s Fury then you are crazy because Evangeline is incredible. She had a harsh upbringing and despite it all she still sweet and caring. That doesn’t make her a pushover, far from it. She has managed to take care of herself and fulfill her goal of owning her own bakery. The last thing she wants in her life is another brutal shifter. She escaped that life and never wants to go back to it again. Alonzo also had a harsh ugly childhood, which has made his Amur leopard (I looked them up. They are incredibly beautiful and extremely rare) feral and difficult to control. The moment he steps into her bakery, his leopard instantly calms down. He knows better than to get involved with her but he can’t stay away.

Action, intrigue and romance make this a wonderful read. I’m loving all the mated characters in the story that I’m guessing have their own previous books. Then there are the unmated guys that, even though they are supposed to be scary deadly, I still got a laugh out of some of their antics. Now as for Evangeline and Alonzo, love them! Despite them feeling a zing between each other, this was not an insta-love story. There’s a nice slow build-up from store owner/customer, to friends, to eventually mates. Okay so the mate-biting thing was not exactly all that romantic, but it sure was sexy! Both had harsh childhoods that will just rip your heart out but their romance more than makes up for it.

Between that awesome cover and that tempting blurb, I just knew I had to have Leopard’s Fury and OMG was it good! Ms. Feehan has giving me a wonderful reminder of how good her writing is and why I need to come back. Fans of hers are going to love this book.
