Title: Some Like it Sinful
Their attraction is sinfully delicious…
A struggling business and one act of vandalism may have brought them together, but bakery owner Chloe Nelson and professional hockey player Griffin Lange get along like chocolate and pickles. Chloe needs the famous (and famously unattached) Griffin to attract people to her pastries, and Griffin needs the curvaceous and fiery Chloe to keep him out of trouble. A fake relationship to keep the media interested seems like the perfect plan.
But when temptation throws them into bed together, a new plan arises. Why not make the fake real? Griffin’s winning every home game, and Chloe’s business has never been better. Both know it’s only physical—and only temporary. But can they drop their defenses for love, even if it means getting a little bit sinful?

Robbie Terman bakes up another page-turning contemporary romance in Some Like it Sinful, the second book in the A Perfect Recipe series.
Griffin Lange, captain of the Chicago Brawlers hockey team, pulls off a dangerous and stupid stunt that lands him in trouble with the law. Not wanting to end up in jail, Griffin accepts a community service deal to work at Happy Ending Bakery, where he meets Chloe Nelson. When Sylvia, Chloe’s sister explains who Griffin is, Chloe determines that she needs his star power to help her new business compete with a national chain bakery. Upset he cannot buy his way out of helping Chloe, Griffin begrudgingly agrees to his commitment. He is stunned that Chloe had no idea of who was. Chloe and Griffin aren’t a couple that hits it off from the beginning, but a definite chemistry sizzles between the two of them. Their dry and witty banter provides many laugh-out-loud moments as they build friendly relationship, which keep the pages flying by. I loved that Chloe was completely clueless about Griffin’s fame and about hockey in general, adding depth to this story. Griffin never tells his teammates about his legal troubles, and when his working at Happy Ending Bakery is exposed, Griffin lies and tells his friends he is working at his girlfriend’s bakery. The PR department of the hockey team sees Griffin’s relationship with Chloe as a way to build another following for the team. Now, Griffin and Chloe find themselves in a fake relationship to help their careers. Chloe is willing to try anything and everything to make her business a success, which I could completely relate to having owned my own independent store for many years. Chloe’s fears and concerns were realistic, which really hit home with me. Even though they are pretending, Chloe realizes that her feelings for Griffin are turning into love. But, Chloe wants Prince Charming and a happily ever after, and she’s concerned that she sees too many of her father’s bad traits in Griffin. At times Griffin treats Chloe poorly while he works through his legal issues, but when he finally recognizes that Chloe is truly the one for him, it will bring a smile to your face.
Another aspect to this series I’ve really enjoyed was how Chloe’s friendship with Ashton Grey-Cates and Jenna Rawley continues grow as they support each other through thick and thin. Terman does a masterful job of keeping the reader engaged and up to date with the couples from the first book, Ashton and Ty as well as Jenna and Hal, while not overpowering Chloe’s love story.
Some Like it Sinful has everything I love in a contemporary romance: an engaging couple, great secondary characters, and stunning plot twists. I positively cannot wait for future A Perfect Recipe releases!
