Lose Control by Anna Leigh Keaton is an entertaining contemporary romance about a marriage at a crossroads.

Malcolm and Kerri Shields have been married for five years and have a beautiful son, Justin. Malcolm, who used to frequent a fetish clubs before his marriage, is woefully unsatisfied with his sex life. He hopes to bring out the sex kitten in his wife by having her reading books about dominance and submission and taking her to a BDSM club. Overwhelmed by the experience, Kerri begins to understand that her husband is unhappy with their sex life. Kerri feels conflicted because her mother taught her that you always need to control your lust, and not let it rule your emotions, or your man will leave you. Needing help, Kerri turns to her much older sister, Tamara, for advice. Tamara helps Kerri realize that what their mother said was wrong. Malcolm is stunned when Kerri finally explains to him what she’s thinking during their bedroom play. As they try to re-invent their sexual relationship, Malcolm promises to take it slow with her, which endeared his character to me. Kerri is a sympathetic character; I really felt her struggles as she tries to enjoy sex instead of remaining emotionally detached through the experience. With Tamera’s advice and Malcolm’s love, Kerri learns that it is possible lose control in the bedroom and not lose her true essence, which is a wonderful thing.

With its absorbing couple and a compelling plot, Lose Control is a captivating and pleasurable read.
