Review – Losing Control (Kerr Chronicles #1) by Jen Frederick

I’d do anything to keep my mother alive.

Anything, including ask Ian Kerr for help. I don’t know much about him, except that he has more money than some small countries. And he’s willing to spend it on me. Just one catch: there’s a string attached, and not just the one I feel pulling me into his arms and his bed. There’s also the plan for revenge he wants my help with.

Every time he says my name, it makes my body shiver and my heart stutter. I know he’s going to wreck me, know there won’t be anything left of me but lust and sensation by the time he’s done with me, but even though I can see the heartbreak coming towards me like a train, ready to crash into me, I can’t get out of the way. I want what he makes me feel. Want what he’s offering.

This may have started out as something to save my mother, but now…now it’s about what he makes me feel. I’m in danger of losing everything that’s important. Worse? Ian's whispered words and hot caresses are making me believe that's okay.

Are you kidding me right now? This book came out, when? How have I NOT read this by now? I’m shocked, especially considering how freaking good it is. I don’t give out 5 stars unless I plan on stalking and recommending this author, so Ms. Frederick, consider yourself stalked 😉

I was a goner the moment I finished the first chapter. Reading about the struggle “Tiny” not only suffered through, but the continuing struggle to not only keep herself sane while dealing with her responsibilities, pulled me so deep into this read, there was no escaping it. Tiny finds herself in an undeniable situation of having to be the parent to her mom, both financially and physically while her mom goes through her second bought of chemo. It’s while she has to provide financially where she runs into Ian.

Sigh….Ian, a.k.a. Bruce Wayne, Batman and any other superhero you could possibly think of. Hot damn this man literally has it all and then some. No wonder Tiny has a hard time denying him. Although he has a secret that he needs Tiny to help him with, he withholds that “project” from her while their relationship builds into something neither of them suspected would or could happen. But once Ian fills Tiny in on that “project”, will she walk away from everything, still needing a way to take care of her ailing mother?

Not only was it extremely hard to put this book down, but I pretty much ignored my family in order to finish it. I guess I suffered from the same magnetic pulls these two did. Oh, and the sex scenes were some of the hottest ones I’ve read. Not raunchy, but totally intense and HAWT!!!!

Honestly…thank God there is another one. I haven’t fulfilled my Ian and Tiny fix.
