The second book in the Willie Krenshaw series is a fascinating action packed romance.
Renae Gioli finds unwanted adventure when she hears the voice an Italian speaking man named Alexandre. She’s entranced even when his strange behavior on the dance floor scares her while leaving her hot and wanting at the same time. Alex can’t help himself, even as he fights fate he’s captivated by her eyes. Kidnapping her was never in the cards, but he can’t let her walk away. But he’s forced his will on her and put her life in danger, will she be able to forgive him?
This is a fast paced story that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat with lots of action and romance. The author describes the story with great detail and vivid imagery that makes the reader feel as if they are part of the story. The characters are strong and bewitching, easily related to and having them wanting to know more.
The chemistry between Alex and Renae radiates heat from beginning to end and the frequent sex scenes explode with hot and steamy passion. Alex is a arrogant, sexy alpha male that readers may want to knock some sense into, while Renae is alternates between being scared of the situation and taking Alex down a peg or two and as the story unfolds they both capture the reader’s hearts.
The romance between Alex and Renae is explosive and entertaining all on its own, but to spice it up even more Stephen is back and up to his usual evil deeds and Willie is confronted by not one but two cougar males.
The author has created another delightful story with a great couple and she also continues to give the reader more of Willie’s story especially as it seems fate’s not finished with her. I couldn’t find any information regarding future books in the series, but I certainly hope I will hear more of Willie’s tale and maybe some more about a couple of cougar males that invaded her life. There was also a question regarding Renae that wasn’t answered, so I hope to hear more about her Alex as well.
About Lea Barrymire
Lea lives in Western New York with her hubby, three children, and miscellaneous critters. Before the rugrats, she lived a life of adventure, following her husband all over Europe with the US military. She’s slept in a car outside Paris, drove six hours just to see tulips in the Netherlands, and knocked ash from her shoes at Pompeii. Now she spends her time in life’s adventures at soccer games, PTA meetings and school plays.
Lea has loved reading from a very young age, spending many sleepless nights devouring books. Science fiction and paranormal were her favorite genres to read as a teenager, and that love bled into her adult life. She started writing during a bout of insomnia, to fill time, and found it filled a creative void. Now she communes regularly with the characters in her head and tries not to laugh out loud when they say something funny.
When Lea isn’t reading, writing or corralling kids, she enjoys watching movies and sciencey shows, or just kicking back and listening to some music.
“What the hell did you do to me? Drug my beer? It’s a date rape drug, right? Didn’t get your dosage right or what?” Renae could barely form coherent thoughts.
Her body was burning with need, her pussy was wet and hot, pulsing in time to her heartbeat. She was reeling from their dance, the feel of his body against her, and that strange kiss he’d given her on the neck. She would’ve sworn he’d bitten her. Who in their right mind bites someone? And since that moment her body had turned into a raging inferno of lust. She wanted to rub her thighs together to alleviate the pressure throbbing in her clit. She was so close to climaxing that she was afraid to shift on the seat. Embarrassment and fear dueled as her primary emotion. She fought a whimper. “You know what, Alex? If that is even your name. You are a very attractive man. I can’t believe you’d stoop to something so slimy to get someone to go home with you, or whatever the end game was supposed to be.”
She stood and wobbled, bracing her hand on the table before turning to storm away. She needed to call or text Meghan and make sure she was okay. Maybe the guy she’d been talking to was working the bar with Alex. Fear skated down her spine. What if something had happened to Meg while Alex had been dancing with Renae?
“Please wait. I did no such thing to you. I can fix how you are feeling but you must give me a moment.” Alex’s smooth voice stopped her in the middle of her exit. She wanted to believe him, she really did. She turned back, glaring, to find him looking not only confused, but upset.
“Talk fast, bucko. And, no bullshit.”
“Fine. Just give me a moment to put my thoughts in order.” He motioned to her seat. “Please, sit. I promise not to even touch you again if that is what you wish.”
With a huff Renae sat on the chair again. She was starting to feel better. Her breathing was back to normal, and other than a persistent pulsing in her clit, she was almost over the fantastic arousal she’d suffered while dancing. She took a deep breath and willed away the last remnants of the lust.
She almost laughed at the absurdity of the whole experience. She was not one to talk to men when out at the bars. She went along to keep Meghan out of trouble. The first time she gives in and finds herself intrigued by a man he turns out to be a possible weirdo, no worse than that, a possible mental case. How was that for luck? She shook her head and looked up to find him staring at her with a slight furrow between his eyes. He was certainly concentrating on something, but what? She glanced over her shoulder just to make sure he wasn’t staring at someone or something else with that intense scrutiny. Nope, nothing behind her but a wall.
“What?” She was getting pissed again. She should have just walked away from him. What was the point of sitting here listening to more bullshit from this fabulously gorgeous guy if he was going to turn out to be creepy?
“You will forget tonight.” His whispered words made the hairs on the back of her neck stand. Yep, creepy.
“Not likely, but I’m going to work on it.” She looked into his black eyes and grimaced. Too bad, really. He was almost perfect for her. She sighed. Well, at least she figured out his game before something bad happened. She needed to find Meghan and get them out of there.
“What do you mean not likely? How are you doing that?” He seemed agitated with her, like this whole thing was her fault.
