Review: Marked (Dark Protectors #7) by Rebecca Zanetti

Janie Kayrs has known Zane almost her whole life. He was her friend in the dream world. She trusted him. But that was before he kidnapped her, spiriting her away to an isolated cabin to learn what her dreams never told her. Like how dangerous he looks. How he got on the wrong side of the negotiating table. And how much sexier he is in real life…

Zane is a battle-hardened warrior, used to command and solitude. But Janie has drawn him from the minute they met. His need for her could destroy everything he’s worked for, but the risk is too sweet not to take it. They call her the Chosen One. But when it comes down to the questions of peace or war, life or death, safety or passion, it will be Janie who makes the choice…

It has come time for choices to be made, war or peace, life or death, safety or passion and Chosen One or not, Janie will make her own choices in this mesmerizing paranormal romance.

Janie has known war most of her life and Zane was her friend in the dream world but now she discovers that Zane is on the wrong side of the negotiating table. The reader can’t help but get caught up in this fast paced and smooth flowing plot that keeps readers shivering in anticipation as Zane tries to protect everyone he loves from his uncle. The strong compelling characters grab the reader’s attention and the fascinating world continues to thrill readers with the war between the supernatural races.  Being only human, Janie captures the heart with her courage and determination to keep everyone she cares and Zane makes hearts pound with his alpha protective attitude, together sparks fly in every direction and passions burn out of control.

The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and spine tingling excitement builds throughout the story as the peace talks go from one extreme to the other and a deadly virus threatens to wipe out everyone Janie holds dear, not to mention battles on every side. With everyone wanting Janie either for themselves or dead because of prophecies, Zane and her family has their work cut out for them keeping her safe especially when she’s determined to keep them safe.

I definitely recommend that the books in this series be read in order to get the full impact of the war and where each these captivating characters stand and of course, the events leading up to this book. There is never a dull moment and I was completely caught up in this story from there beginning all the way through the spectacular conclusion.
