This is the second part of the sixth book in Donna Grant’s Dark Warrior series that is being released as a weekly serial leading up to the publication date where readers are able to buy the book in its entirety.

I LOVE it when a character I’m reading turns out to be something different or something more than they have initially been introduced as. As readers move into the second part of Midnight’s Captive we learn so much new information about Laura. She is like an onion with all her layers and it seems like she has really yet to be fully revealed. The revelations put her in even more danger than she originally thought she was in. The past that she has fled and hides from others comes back to surprise her. I’m looking forward to finding out more about her past. It’s dark and seedy and guaranteed to make her into an even stronger heroine.

The other warriors are beginning to believe there may be even more depth to the depravity that Jason has inflicted upon them. Jason as upped the ante in the harm that can be inflicted upon the warriors. The warriors have always had a few weaknesses, but Jason has figured out a method to amplify the harm caused. Now the warriors are trying to find a different method of fighting back. That is most likely what Aiden is up to in his ventures outside of MacLeod Castle.

I’m enjoying the side story that Aiden is providing. Thus far in the Dark Warrior books he has just been the son of a previous novel’s couple. The constant watchful eyes that are on him from within the protective bubble of the castle has left him wanting out, to experience life to its fullest. He has never really had that opportunity. Now that he has been given a responsibility outside of that bubble he is taking full advantage in some of the things that are to be found in the world we all know and take for granted.
