Review: Midnight’s Kiss Part I by Donna Grant

From New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant comes a new tale of The Dark Warriors—men who have been bound by gods, fighting a deadly war that normal humans know nothing about. It is a brutal, unforgiving battle that may cost them their souls…unless they can find the one woman whose love can set them free.

Dr. Veronica “Ronnie” Reid is not just another pretty face. She is a world-renowned archeologist who has a “knack” for finding unexpected treasures. She is on the hunt in Scotland, but she gets more than the unexpected when she meets a tall, dark and mysteriously powerful man named Arran…

Arran is a man with a dark secret, a Highlander whose barely controlled power lurks just beneath the surface. He is a Warrior—one of an elite few who are bound with the power of a god. He is searching for answers and Ronnie could be the key. The passion between them, however, is so explosive that it cannot be denied.

The latest book in Donna Grant’s Dark Warriors series is being sold as a serial! Midnight’s Kiss has been broken down into four sections. Now you can wait until June 4 to purchase the book in its entirety or on May 14 readers will be given the option to purchase the first fourteen exciting chapters of Arran and Ronnie’s thrilling book.

Readers are quickly swept back into Warrior and Druid life at MacLeod Castle. Nearly a year has passed in this magical world and the tension between some of the Warriors and their Druids is getting pretty high. The Druid wives want something. They want it now and it is beginning to drive everyone insane that they have not found it. The latest research shows that an ongoing archeological dig may have some answers to what they are hunting. Arran is more than willing to go do a little digging (yes pun intended!) to advance their progress on finding this item.

Ronnie doesn’t know it but there is a reason she is good at finding artifacts. She knows she has a certain knack for it. She is just completely unaware of what that knack is from. This current dig is different for so many reasons though. There is something there that doesn’t just call to her. Whatever is in the soil is driving her with force to get to it even if it puts her in the path of danger. Ronnie knows there is danger at the current site. She just can’t figure out if it is the sexy man with too many questions and all seeing eyes or what is beneath the soil…

Whoa! This is an exciting read. Without going into spoiler territory I was wondering what Donna was going to do with her big bad evil. The area of that that has been touched on has me beyond eager to move on to Part II. As for what is going on at the dig site, I can’t help but ponder which will be the worse of the evils here.
