Title: Midnight's Promise
Malcolm is a Highland Warrior--fierce, powerful, unstoppable--living among us. Tormented by the god bound inside of him and haunted by the darkness he fights to keep at bay. He has kept himself apart, even from others of his kind. That is, until he sees...her. Evelyn is a woman of stunning beauty, brains and determination, who is searching for answers to her own mysterious past. But he also recognizes a loneliness in her and a desire to be awakened. He should stay away from her at all costs, but the powerful, sensual pull she has over him is too much for him to resist...even if it means that she will discover things about him that he wants to keep buried.

This first part in the serialized Midnight’s Promise starts out kind of slow. Readers were not thrown into the story in the middle of an intense scene. Donna has to introduce her fans to Evangeline, Evie. Other than a few short mentions in previous books Evie is a completely new character. There is plenty of building with her. Once Malcolm is with her readers are given some of the important details from previous books in him telling her if druid history, and also some of the past occurrences of the place she has found sanctuary in.
I know the story will pick up. Malcolm is guaranteed to deliver a remarkable tale. The scarred tortured heroes that do not value themselves always do. I’m also eager to discover the connection to Evie and her hiding spot. There has to be one other than what her druid magic lead her too.
