Review: Midnight’s Promise Part 2 (Dark Warriors #8) by Donna Grant

Malcolm cannot walk away from Evie and it is becoming clearer that the mystery surrounding her past has caught the attention of the Warriors' most deadly enemy, a powerful dark Druid named Jason Wallace.  And it is not only Evie who is in danger, but her younger brother as well, who has been taken hostage.  Jason wants not only an priceless heirloom that had been passed down to Evie from her grandmother, but he wants Evie as well. To make matters even worse, Evie has been hearing the call of dark whispers, pulling her toward a destiny she does not know if she can resist.

Stars: five-stars

I knew once this Dark Warrior book got its momentum going that it would be as amazing as the other books in the series. Part 2 of Midnight’s Promise did just that. Evie and Malcolm are discovering that there is something between them. Malcolm who has tried to distance himself from everything and everyone can’t seem to do that where Evie is concerned. He also wants to stay close to her because of where she is hiding out. He sees nothing good coming from that.

Evie is learning more about her hideout. In learning more about her hideout she learns some things about druids she never knew and she also learns some of Malcolm’s hidden thoughts. It’s her druid magic and the place they are that has Malcolm doing something he has not done in a very long time and that is confiding in another person.

As with most serials this part ends at a very intense moment. I can’t wait to see where this decision takes Evie and how Malcolm handles the whole thing. Much excitement is guaranteed in the next part!

Not a fan of serials, but this looks interesting. Maybe I will wait until they are all out and get them all at once 🙂
