I knew the last part of the serialized Midnight’s Temptation would be intense. Phelan is dealing with the multiple bombshells that have been dropped on him. Aisley has to come to terms with her not so bright looking future. Life has really taken a turn for the worse where these two are concerned. Some of it was known from the very beginning, but there were still some surprises in the mix. Phelan has never been quiet of his hatred for droughs. He has also been very open to the possibilities he see for him and Aisley. All of that made for a volatile situation for them to overcome.
The evil finally showed face to wreak havoc. One of the things I have enjoyed about this series is that the evil constantly changes and evolves. The Warriors and Druids never seem to be able to catch a well needed break.
My one disappointment was how Aisley overcame all the obstacles that were put against her. This world is immersed in magic, legends, and mythology. So the magical aspect was expected. I just thought it was a bit too much. The solution seemed a little over the top. Perhaps it will all make more sense with the next book and the next series. There may be some big tie in that will be revealed later and I’ll feel better about it.
