Review: My Seductive Highlander (Highland Hearts #4) by Maeve Greyson

Though part of a legacy of time-traveling sisters, Lilia Sinclair is planted firmly in twenty-first-century Edinburgh. Her granny’s matchmaking with thirteenth-century Highlanders isn’t about to lure her into the past, especially as ancient Scotland enters troubled times. After all, Lilia is blessed—or cursed—with dire prophetic visions. To protect herself, she’s put up an icy emotional wall no man could cross—until a pair of gorgeous, rippling arms breaks right through.

Graham MacTavish is pure trouble. Once the dragon bound to Loch Ness, he’s transformed into a philanderer of the first order. In fact, because of his dalliances with other men’s wives, a rival clan wants his head on a pike. Before he provokes an all-out war, Graham is banished to the twenty-first century, where he must win Lilia’s hand—or return to die. But after meeting a lass as fierce as any Highland warrior, Graham knows one thing: life with Lilia, in any century, is a fate to embrace.

I have enjoyed Maeve Greyson’s Highland Hearts time-travel series featuring the Sinclair women. The whole lot have time-travel capabilities and each one has been blessed, or cursed-as they see it, with a different gift. Each book in the series focuses on one sister, her gift, and how she obtains a mate. My Seductive Highlander is the fourth and final book of the series and it is Lilia and Graham’s story.

Lilia is the youngest of the Sinclair sisters and was gifted with empathy and clairvoyance. She sometimes calls it a curse because all the feelings swamp her at times. Not all of the feelings are good and the bad ones heavily weigh her down. She also gets the occasional vision that she blackout’s from. She is the last sister still in the Twenty-first century, having all the sisters moving back to Thirteenth century Scotland to live with Granny and their respective mates.

Graham has been sent to the Twenty-first century to protect Lilia on order from the clan chief, Gray McKenna and Granny Sinclair. Graham put his clan in danger by having a threesome with a rival clan chief’s wife and his mistress! Facing retribution, Gray has no choice but to banish him from Thirteenth century Scotland, if only to save his life. But Granny has other ideas. She not only wants Graham to protect Lilia, but wants him to marry her as part of his penance.

All in all a good story. I loved the instant chemistry Graham and Lilia felt. They grounded each other and given their histories, that was what they so desperately needed. I liked the interaction of Lilia and her sisters and how they use the time portal to stay in touch. It’s nice to have those catch-up moments with past characters! I instantly liked Graham. Yes, he was a womanizer and his one-track mind, created all the problems for both he and his clan. He totally changed his tune once Lilia was in the picture. The man was super sweet to her!

There were a few things that seemed a bit odd to me, but they didn’t detract from the overall story. I definitely would recommend My Seductive Highlander and the entire Highland Hearts series. Although it’s not required to read the others prior to read this book, do yourself a favor and start with book one. You will like the journey of all the sisters!
