Review: Myka and the Millionaire by Alexis Alvarez

Computer expert Myka Thomas is determined to start her own business, and the last thing she needs is a man bossing her around and getting in the way. But Gabriel Chevalier is not just any man, and when the dashing, dominant millionaire makes his interest in her very clear, Myka cannot resist his advances. Stripped bare, spanked soundly, and brought to one shattering climax after another, she soon finds herself both yielding even more completely to his command of her body and even begging shamelessly for more of his masterful lovemaking.

As Myka juggles two demanding jobs, she savors the time she spends in Gabriel's palatial home. When she is in his presence, surrendering to his firm, loving control seems natural, even when that means submitting to a painful, embarrassing spanking when she has been disobedient. Before she can stop herself, Myka is falling hard for Gabriel, but can she dare to risk giving her heart to a man with so many shadows in his past that there may be no room for her in his future?

Myka is a fiery, red hot, and very intelligent woman. She’s a computer programmer by trade but by night she has fantasies.   She’s curious about BDSM after reading books and researching on the internet.  When she meets Gabriel one evening, she’s very much attracted and intrigued.  When she realizes that Gabriel is a dominant, she lets him know she’s interested.  He offers to teach her the ways of a submissive.  Not knowing if she is a submissive, she agrees to try whatever he asks at least once while she figures it out.

Gabriel is a dominant and likes it a bit rough.  He’s been without a sub for awhile as he was devastated when his last one left.  He’s not interested in anything but a casual relationship-although he’s even hesitant about that.  When Myka is so responsive to him, he’s slowly pulled under her spell.  He tries very hard to keep his walls around his heart intact, but Myka is breaking them down one by one.

Alexis Alvarez brings us into a decidedly passionate, intense, and riveting world.  I loved the journey she took us on.  I was feeling so many emotions while reading Myka and the Millionaire.  At times I was telling Myka to stop and wake up and I wanted to smack Gabriel and tell him to stop being such a jerk! They were very explosive, and both were strong willed in their own right. Yet they are realistic and believable and like your friend next door.  Both are holding back secrets and would eventually cause them so much hurt and sadness. Their story is very enlightening.  Alvarez does a great job of explaining the BDSM world. Every relationship is different and defined by the participants wants and needs.  Trust being at the top of the list.  Myka and Gabriel seemed very compatable and I wanted it to work out so badly for them. This is one of those books that once the ground work is laid out, it’s addicting. It was hard to put down and I highly recommend it!
