I went into Please remember me with a bit of caution. I know I have never read or seen it but this seemed vaguely familiar to something that hit the big screen a few years ago from a book. I’m not sure how that played out. I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed the way Hank and Santi and their roads to happily ever after played out.
Just a couple of weeks before Santi and Hank’s wedding everything these men had going for them comes to an abrupt halt when Hank suffers a head injury that leaves a gap in his memory. That gap is Santi. Two romances between Hank and Santi begin to unfold as readers get swept away in these two falling in love all over again while Santi relives how they fell in love to begin with.
The secondary characters, friends and family member of Santi and Hank brought plenty of entertainment to the pages. Many of them had known Hank from before the accident and they knew the happiness that Santi brought into Hank’s life. They were a great support team to Santi while the love of his life was unintentionally breaking his heart.
I truly enjoyed the way their story was told. While some of the memories were flashbacks, many times they were presented by Santi answering one of Hank’s numerous questions. Hank was desperate to fill in the blank spaces and Santi was more than will to help in any way possible. Jacob Z. Flores gives readers a sexy story, with a little heartache, much compassion, and two love stories. I will definitely read another of his titles very soon.
