Review: Rack & Ruin (THIRDS #3) by Charlie Cochet

New York City’s streets are more dangerous than ever with the leaderless Order of Adrasteia and the Ikelos Coalition, a newly emerged Therian group, at war. Innocent civilians are caught in the crossfire and although the THIRDS round up more and more members of the Order in the hopes of keeping the volatile group from reorganizing, the members of the Coalition continue to escape and wreak havoc in the name of vigilante justice.

Worse yet, someone inside the THIRDS has been feeding the Coalition information. It’s up to Destructive Delta to draw out the mole and put an end to the war before anyone else gets hurt. But to get the job done, the team will have to work through the aftereffects of the Therian Youth Center bombing. A skirmish with Coalition members leads Agent Dexter J. Daley to a shocking discovery and suddenly it becomes clear that the random violence isn’t so random. There’s more going on than Dex and Sloane originally believed, and their fiery partnership is put to the test. As the case takes an explosive turn, Dex and Sloane are in danger of losing more than their relationship.

300 Review

Dex and Sloane have been thoroughly enjoying the dirty secret that is them for quite a few months now, officially. They are still getting used to each other but they know they make each other very happy. Work is where their main woes are at this point. The Coalition and the Order are proving to be difficult to take down. The killings both human and Therian are escalating. Sadly that’s not the main problem in the third installment of Charlie Cochet’s THIRDS series. Destructive Delta is about to implode!

Sloane is watching his team going through all the motions of a collision course. He has to keep reminding himself that no one can know about his relationship with Dex. Everyone can see how Ash’s “straightness” is killing Cael. To top that off Ash is acting even stranger than usual. Cael and Dex know that something is going on with Ash’s absences. Calvin and Hobbs are going through something that has them constantly on edge at each other. They still need to work cohesively as a team to bring down the Ikelos Coalition even though they are falling apart.

I am so happy that I jumped into this series at a time where I can buy them all at once for the devouring. The fact that Rack & Ruin ended in an explosive cliffhanger is not all that bad at this point in the game. The next book has been loaded on the eReader and now it’s just waiting for me to read it. I overly joyed by the fact that all that Ash and Cael tension will be resolved in their very own book and it too awaits me on the eReader. All things are good in my THIRD reading world.

When purchasing please remember that this series needs to be read in order.
