Review: Rapture’s Edge (Night Prowler #3) by J.T. Geissinger

SECRETS…In the hidden world that exists beside our own, a mirror world of ancient magic and elegant deceptions, a world of people who are so much more than they first appear, a war is brewing. Most of these Gifted people—the Ikati, a savage, sensual race of lethal predators—are content to hide behind human smiles, disguising their splendor in order to survive. But others are discontent. And they will hide no longer.

BETRAYALS…Eliana lives for two things only: vengeance on the man who killed her father and seeing her father’s dream of living in the open with humans come to pass. But that dream is far too dangerous for The Hunt, a group of elite Ikati assassins with one objective: eliminate her before she can expose their secrets to the world.

SEDUCTION…Demetrius is haunted by the memory of the woman he once loved. He will risk everything to save her from the killers on her tail…and convince her, before the ancient walls between two worlds crumble, that only together can they defeat their real enemy, a brilliant, cunning traitor far more deadly than either of them can guess.

Again with a series I really love! I was highly anticipating this book so that I could read about Ana and D. Now that I have read it I can say that it did not disappoint. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened with the Princess and D. This book picks up three years after the last one. A lot has changed since then for the Princess as well as for others in the story.

This author has no problem keeping me interested in this storyline. The action is well planned with plenty of down time in the stories also and several hot scenes mixed in as well. I have no problem keeping up with the book and I actually read this all in one sitting because I wanted to know how it would turn out. I really enjoy the characters. Some of the old ones are back in the story especially the Queen.

There are many things that happen in this story most of them were not expected. Ana was definitely a surprise on how she had changed from the last book to this one. She has gotten a lot tougher and street wise and just learned how to survive on her own and take care of others as well. This time around the Ikati are not fighting their enemies the Expurgari so much as they are fighting against one of their own and a madness that is all consuming. I want to see how this part of the storyline pans out because I so was not expecting this turn of events.

The ending has really got me wanting to read the fourth book now but sadly I do not have it. Ana’s brother Caesar is really a piece of work and I can’t wait to see how that part of the story turns out for the Ikati.
