Review: Renounced (Southwestern Shifters #10) by Bailey Bradford

Nothing is as simple as it seems, or as safe.

Dallas Smith just wanted a nap in the hammock but he ends up being abducted by a jaguar shifter named Tiago. They have a distinctly different take on several subjects, and Dallas is shocked to learn just what Tiago really is.

Tiago thinks the wolves in the rainforest are an invasive species that need to leave.

Meanwhile, there’s a threat to the rainforest that no one saw coming. Marcus Criswell has had more losses in the past year or so than he can deal with. He has to, though, because he’s the Alpha Anax of the North American packs. The only reason he’s in South America is because his guard was kidnapped, but now Keegan is safe.

There’s still the matter of the man who tried to abduct Keegan. He can’t go unpunished. Then another shifter goes missing. Dallas, gone from the hammock in a heartbeat.

And on top of that, Maarten is missing.

It just got hotter than hell in Brazil.

It just got hotter than hell in Brazil as the pack discovers there is more to the attacks against the wolves than they thought, Maarten goes missing, and Dallas is kidnapped by a Jaguar named Tiago who thinks the wolves are an invasive species in this exciting paranormal m/m romance.

With a fast pace and smooth flowing plot, this romance keeps readers on their toes with lots of suspense, excitement and passion. The reader can’t help but get caught up in all the excitement that is happening in Brazil as Marcus and Ryder along with their packs try to discover just who attacked them and why. While all the focus is on the mission, Tiago is stalking the pack and finds himself drawn to Dallas and decides to kidnap him to discover just what is going on with that. The attraction burns hot and the sex scenes are hot and steamy, but the mating between these two has a couple of issues that adds lots of spice and depth to their romance, different cultures being an important one. All the strong compelling and lovable characters are back, grabbing the reader’s attention and ensuring that the reader will come back to visit.

There is never a dull moment with all the action going on in this story as Maarten is taken by the bad guy, Dallas is taken by the Jaguar and betrayals and attacks continually torment the pack. The well written scenes and details paint vivid images that capture the imagination and bring the story to life while the well orchestrated suspense and action draw the reader deeper into the story.

With some surprising twists and turns, this book kept me guessing and I couldn’t put it down until I had read the very last word. Bailey Bradford has introduced a new intriguing element and Marcus’ role as the Alpha Anax of the North American packs is taking its toll and I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
