Title: Rich Promise
Her secrets stripped bare, only the truth remains. Will it be enough?
Happy, secure, contented with her new life in the rugged West Yorkshire moorland, Summer has everything she could wish for. A Dominant lover she adores and who treasures her, a wonderful job, a new home, friends. She’s respected, liked. Even loved. And above all, she’s safe.
Desperate to share her hard-won security with her younger sisters, Summer starts to lay plans to bring them to Yorkshire to live with her. But this will take time and require careful negotiation. Above all she can’t risk destroying everything by letting anyone learn of her sordid past. Least of all Dan.
But suddenly matters are taken out of her hands. Time has run out and she needs to act, and act now if she is to offer her sisters the safe haven they need. Desperate still to keep her secrets, she has no choice but to deceive Dan.
But how will she accomplish this without the knowledge of her friends, her new employer, and the angry, stern Dom bent on delivering discipline and retribution?

I’m somewhat sad writing this review for Rich Promises. I know it’s the final book in A Richness of Swallows series as well the ending to the Black Combe tetralogy. I’ve come to love all the characters and their quirks. All good things must come to an end although if Ms. Barker decides to extend the series, you won’t hear me complain. So let’s get to what I thought of this book.
When we last left off, Summer and Dan were fairly happy. She seems to have gotten over her OCD issues but there was still the lingering question of her family. Summer’s secrets are about to all be revealed to Dan, provided she can trust him enough then again can Dan get over the fact that she hasn’t been telling him the truth all along. Of the trilogy I feel Rich Promise was the most emotional of A Richness of Swallows series. It’s definitely a rocky adventure for them. And, as hot as the sex is for them and most certainly creative, my favorite parts are still the emotional ones. Not much interactions with previous characters except for Nathan’s household but that’s okay. We already knew everybody else got their HEA. There were even a few surprises I was delighted to discover. I was a little disappointed that this trilogy didn’t quite have the OMG! cliffhangers the other three had. With the unresolved issues surrounding her family, her horrible past and the neat freak issues there could have been.
Once again Ms. Barker has outdone herself. A great read and finish for anyone who followed the series, Rich Promise is sure to leave you smiling. I know I was. I recommend reading this trilogy from the beginning and not as a stand-alone. If you really want to treat yourself I highly suggest reading from the VERY beginning starting with The Dark Side, then Sure Mastery, followed by The Hardest Word. Now for the hard part…finding a new series and characters to fall in love with.
