The fourth book in the Tales of the Rikashi series is an intriguing and entertaining world of dragons with refreshing elements.
On the run from her father, brother and a mysterious woman, Lorelei flies to Texas on the advice of the only person she can trust, her grandmother. As part of a group aiding Rakashi refugees, Tam is delegated to protect the timid Lorelei, but as her confidence grows, so does his desire for her.
The story starts off with excitement that continues to build throughout this steady to fast pace plot. The author brings this dragon world to life with vivid imagery, intriguing conflicts, drama, romance and enchanting characters that capture the reader’s imagination.
The attraction between Tam and Lorelei is hot and steamy and fraught with emotional drama. The author conveys the emotions and personalities of all the characters with intense detail and the reader can easily relate to each one. All of the characters are fascinating with strong charismatic personalities that leave the reader wanting to know more.
The reader stays glued to the book as each new scene unfolds and secrets are revealed keeping the reader guessing. The dragons are great characters with fascinating elements that add depth to the story. Once I started reading, I had to finish the story, even though there were a few things that weren’t real clear in the beginning, but I believe this is due to the fact that I haven’t read the first three and therefore I recommend reading the series in order for the history and background information because the main conflicts in this series are ongoing and build on one another. Despite my slight confusion in the beginning, the tale is a great dragon romance and I will not only be reading the previous ones, I am looking forward to future books in the series.
