Immortal Embrace, Book Three

Ta'breyian Wolffe is no stranger to loss. He's on intimate terms with the pain and rage caused by losing his wife to the Rogue vampires he's made it his mission to destroy. He keeps his emotions in check, the guilt over his part in his beloved's death a cloak he wears always. Dangerous and lethally efficient when slaying his enemies, Ta'breyian has lived with his grief for more than a thousand years, ever alone.

Until a raven-haired beauty awakens his carnal side at long last.

Reporter Serena Miller's determination to chase the story of mysterious deaths in New York City sends her plummeting into Ta'breyian's violent world. The gorgeous woman tempts him like no other. She offers her body, but her love is off limits as long as Ta'breyian's heart still belongs to a woman long dead. The time has come. He'll have to confront his past-especially when it threatens to destroy his and Serena's future.

Seduction of Night by Erin Simone makes for a good third entry in the Immortal Embrace series. Filled with action, steamy sex and suspense, we get to follow Ta’breyian and Serena as they meet and hurdle obstacles that life – and death – throw their way.

Outside of a few quirky things I really did enjoy Seduction of Night. Ta’breyian and Serena are really great characters. There’s a real nice connection between them that makes for a good read. Throw in a few interesting twist and I found myself not able to put this book down. It helps that the sexual chemistry between them is pretty hot. Nice to see a few returning characters from previous books in the series. There’s a few new ones that have perked my attention and would love to see them get stories. Not sure if I would like to see Jay or Raven get their story next but both certainly deserve one.

I had a few moments thorough the book that did give me pausing. First of – you got to love a guy who carries a torch for long…sort of. I had my moments that wavered between wanting to comfort Ta’breyian for his loss and wanting to shake him screaming “Get. Over. It.” As for Serena, she is more forgiven than I am. No details on that tidbit…just saying when you get there, you’ll know what I’m talking about. My other issue was a Serena’s dream. While it worked okay at that moment, I found myself wondering if there was a point to it on the whole. Maybe further in to series there will be a purpose why but for right now, I’m left somewhat head scratching. Other than those issues (Which were probably just me) I liked Ta’breyian and Serena story.

I have been reading the series from the beginning and have been really enjoying it. Author Erin Simone has done a fairly good job putting together hot covers, hot characters and great plots. Seduction of Night makes a good read for vampire lovers and something I would recommend. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
