Review: Seth (Cyborgs: More Than Machines #5) by Eve Langlais

His mission: Blend in with the humans. Save the cyborgs. And seduce the only woman he ever loved, without getting killed.

Cybernetic spy models are different from other humans turned machine. For one thing, they never completely lost touch with their humanity, or their memories. But retaining their identity doesn’t mean the military didn’t mess with their lives. Seth lost the woman he loved because of their web of lies. When the chance arises to make things right, he relies on his superior intellect—and irresistible charm—to prove his innocence, and make Anastasia his again.

Anastasia might possess upgraded parts and programming, but the scientists never could cure her of her biggest weakness, jealousy. The volatile emotion made her walk away from love once. Can she overcome it and recognize the truth? Or will she continue to let the military manipulate her emotional strings?

I have enjoyed Seth’s character from the very beginning. He has added some humanity to Eve’s Cyborg books. He is one of the spy model cyborgs. In an attempt to make sure he can blend in with humans the evil powers that be left him with much of his humanity so that he could infiltrate anything. They initially paired him with his perfect match and very own female Anastasia. Evil powers being supremely evil did what makes complete sense to those that are evil… They took away the happy relationship.

Seth is given the opportunity to have Anastasia in his life again, but there are strings attached to this. Anastasia has requested Seth’s assistance in her own personal goal of revenge vendetta. She wants answers. She has made it her sole purpose in life to find these answers. She will not let anything stand in her way when it comes to seeking those that know what she wants to know. Seth is her only obstacle. She finds her attention easily diverted when it comes to this sexy man-machine.

The fifth installment in the Cyborgs More Than Machines series was totally fun. Seth has enough personality to supply every character in a book. His pursuit of Anastasia made the book a fast paced joy to read. There are a few revelations that were made concerning the cyborg origins that have me eager to get the next book in my hands. As always Eve gives her readers a tiny tease as to who will get the next book, a book that she cannot write quick enough.

Favorite quote, Anastasia to Seth: “How about instead of you worrying about my steering, you make me see stars?”

I loved this one too. Seth has been such a larger than life character through the series and it was cool to get his story.
