Review – Spiral of Need (The Mercury Pack #1) by Suzanne Wright

Ally Marshall isn’t just a wolf shifter — she’s a Seer.

But a girl doesn’t exactly need special powers to know that Derren Hudson despises her entire kind. Disdain practically rolls off the Beta of the Mercury Pack . . . disdain mixed with a healthy dose of desire. And no matter how much the ruggedly handsome male appeals to her, this is one call of the wild she’s determined to ignore.

After one betrayal too many, Derren doesn’t have much use for Seers — except for Ally.

Forced into acting as her protector, he finds himself intensely and passionately drawn to the woman who incites his primal instinct to claim.

And when enemies target the pack, Ally’s gift may be just what the Mercury Pack needs.

Can he put his distrust aside, or will he force himself to turn his back on the one woman who makes his inner beast howl?

Wow! Just…WOW!!!! I consider myself somewhat of a PNR lover, so when I was presented with the opportunity to review this one, I jumped at it. Man of man am I happy I did.

This was a fantastic read. You literally have everything you could possibly ask for in this, and the kicker…it was well written. Wolf shifters? Check. Special powers? Check. Betrayal, lust, desire, vengeance? Yep, check. Oh, and sex? Absolutely.

I was completely pulled into this book from the very first chapter. I mean, who wouldn’t want to know that the hell was going to happen considering Ally was being accused of attempted murder? Then you add in the next chapter where you learn about Derren and how he’s been given the “task” to protect her and this is one hell of a ride that I couldn’t put down. It’s been a while since I’ve been this “dedicated” to a book and I’m already chomping for the next one.

I think the thing that I liked most about this was that the story was thoughtfully put together. Everything messed and intertwined seamlessly to the point that I never once thought “wait, what?”. The Author has done such a wonderful job introducing us to the other members of multiple packs and I want to learn more about SO MANY OF THEM!!!! Dante, Dominic, Eli….argh…please tell me I don’t have to wait too long for the next one? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Would I recommend this? Duh, of course. Just be prepared to ignore life because you’re about to enter a PNR realm that will keep you glued to the book until the very last page.
