Review: Stars & Stripes (Cut & Run #6) by Abigail Roux

Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett have managed the impossible: a few months of peace and quiet. After nearly a year of personal and professional turmoil, they're living together conflict-free, work is going smoothly, and they're both happy, healthy, and home every night before dark. But anyone who knows them knows that can’t possibly last.

When an emergency call from home upsets the balance of their carefully arranged world, Ty and Zane must juggle family drama with a perplexing crime to save a helpless victim before time runs out.

From the mountains of West Virginia to a remote Texas horse ranch harboring more than just livestock and childhood memories, Ty and Zane must face their fears—and their families—to overcome an unlikely enemy and bring peace back into their newly shared world.

Ty and Zane and their bizarre and often crazy lives keep me coming back to their books. The more I get in this series the more I need more of them. I’m still kicking myself for waiting so long to read them. I laughed so much while reading Stars and Stripes. These men do not have anything remotely resembling a normal life. Reading them try for one is a humorous journey that I am beyond pleased that I manage to find time to read them.

Very little of this installment of Roux’s Cut and Run series takes place in Baltimore. In fact this one becomes an insight into Zane and why he is the way he is. Ty also gets to experience Texas and all it has to offer when he decides that his partner needs him in Texas more than the FBI needs him in the office. As with everything in Zane and Ty’s life nothing is simple or as it appears on the surface. They soon find themselves in more danger than they imagined possible and it keeps getting deeper.

Favorite quote, Ty to everyone within ear shot: “Guy with a gun, I’m your man. Big white tiger with teeth, it’s every steak for himself.”

I love this series too. This book was probably one of the lightest in the series when it comes to their relationship and I was glad to have it going into all that comes with Touch & Geaux. I laughed at that quote too and I loved finally meeting Zane’s family after only meeting Ty’s up until now.
