The fourth book in the Rugged and Risque series is an intriguing and sensual romance.

Trying to escape a con man after her money and her body, Skye Travis has sworn off me. But when she takes a job at the Painted Horse Ranch & Inn, she meets the studly former marine turned cowboy who’s too mouthwatering to resist. Having his hands full with rescuing horses, Sam doesn’t need any distractions, but one look at the breathtaking beauty that wanders into his stable and he’s hooked.  And when the con man comes looking for his target, he will do anything to keep Skye safe.

This steady to fast paced plot keeps the reader on their toes with suspense and romance.  The author gives the story and characters life with vivid descriptions and details. The compelling characters are strong and charismatic and easily related to. The reader gets totally caught up in the story and emotional drama of not only the characters, but the situation regarding the horses, completely stirring up the reader’s emotions causing tears during a couple of scenes.

The attraction between Skye and Sam sizzles with heat from the very first meeting and the frequent sex scenes are red hot and steamy.  Skye is a strong character with a very vulnerable and insecure personality that she keeps hidden. Sam is an alpha male, but one certainly not scared to show his sensitive side. Both characters are captivating and have the reader wanting to know more about them.

I haven’t read the previous books in the series, yet, and I have to say that I am very intrigued with the various characters that live in this small ranching town.  I will be reading the first three Rugged and Risque series and I am also looking forward to reading future books in the series.Stud in Texas
