Andy has lost her husband, Patrick, and their child and longs to feel something besides grief so she heads to the sex club she and her husband frequented. The sex she searches for is more of a punishment act than for pleasure and she gets what she is looking for. As she is leaving the club she runs into owner who also happens to be her late husband’s best friend. Hunter has loved Andy silently for many years. He is angry she has come to the club to experience pain in order to feel something other than grief. When Hunter refuses to let Andy to return to the club she threatens to go to another club. Hunter relents and allows her to return to the club on one condition that he picks her partner. Andy quickly agrees not know Hunter plans to be her partner…and he wants more than just sex.
Grab the tissues and be prepared for an ugly cry, this is a good one. Sweetest Salivation starts out hot and heavy. The sex in the beginning between Andy and the couple she hooks up with is yowza hot. The sex she has with Hunter is equally hot but the as the story progress it because less about sex and more about romance. Andy’s pain is so palatable I couldn’t hold back the tears. Author Kacey Hammell creates such an emotional roller coaster story, starting with physical pleasure, weaving in conflict and ending with emotional ecstasy. Oh yes reader, this one is quite the ride.
This is definitely a book worth reading.
I received this book from JeepDiva in exchange for my honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.
Vanessa: Would you please start by telling us a little bit about yourself?
Kacey: I’m an avid reader. I love coffee, tea and M&M Peanuts. I am Mom to three kids and a sweet Cockapoo, am happily married to my perfect hero, and run a cattle farm. Things that make me happiest – my children’s laughter, sloppy kisses and quiet cuddle time.
Lori: Do you have a favorite place to write? Do you set a daily writing goal?
Kacey: I like to write in the quiet and cozy window area where my husband built me a work area with desk, shelves and I can look out the window at my kids in the backyard, though they do distract me once in a while just watching them be goofy. I try to write at least 1,000 words a day.
Lori: What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
Kacey: Hmm, great question. I guess one thing that I’ve started doing recently with the last few stories, is that I don’t come up with the character names right away. In place of names, I’ll put **N** or **P** or whatever letter in asterisk that strikes my fancy. Then once the story is written, I’ll focus on the names, then do a find/replace and add them. I used to be so obsessive about having the right character names/titles for each story before I’d start writing but recently the stories are stomping in my head to just get out. *g*
Rachel: If you could visit any time period and location (past or future) when and where would you go?
Kacey: I’d love to go back to the early 1900s when my Grandpa was a boy in Ireland. He used to tell all of us kids’ so many wonderful stories about his childhood in Ireland and I enjoyed them so much. I tell my own kids the stories that I remember best. Ireland is on my bucket list to travel to someday.
Vanessa: Where is the strangest place you have found inspiration?
Kacey: Hmm, strangest place…I guess probably last year when I thought up the concept for a Witch Trilogy that I still wish to write but other stories are taking precedent…I was on the lawn tractor mowing the lawn! Was lost in my own thoughts, it is a monotonous job after all LOL, and the trilogy idea was conceived. Now I wish the characters were talking a bit more so I could dig in, but I like until they are really chattering away before I sit to write a story.
Vanessa: When was the oddest circumstance one of your characters started talking to you and what did he/she want to do?
Kacey: I was at the dentist for a cleaning and when Sebastian – the Ghost from A Ghost for Christmas – came to me and started talking. My eyes popped open wide as Sebastian crouched down and whispered in my years. The dental hygienist pulled back quickly, thinking something was wrong or that she’d hurt me while cleaning. When I could talk again, I had to explain what had happened, which was a little awkward since I thought I was going crazy so I’m sure she did too, but we both ended up laughing about it.
Vanessa: What do you read for pleasure? Do you have a favorite genre or author?
Kacey: I love Contemporary and Rom. Suspense the most. I have many fave authors, the list is longer than my arm, but 10 are: Suzanne Brockmann, JD Robb/Nora Roberts, Sara Brookes, Cherry Adair, Sandra Brown, Jaci Burton, Patricia A Rasey, Karen Robards, Vivian Arend, Roxanne St. Clair.
Vanessa: What do you enjoy most about being an author?
Kacey: Interacting with readers, discussing stories and characters. Nothing pleases me more than hearing from readers, emailing back and forth, and sharing the enthusiasm. I also like the bond with other authors. All the authors I know are so supportive; it’s great to be a part of such a great group of people.
Vanessa: If you could spend a day with any one of your hero’s where would y’all go and what would y’all do? Juicy details please!
Kacey: Oh gosh there are so many heroes! I think I’d spend the day with my very first hero, Brady (Illusions & Tied Down). He’s a P.I., which I’ve always found interesting, and we could work a few cases. He’s also a seer, so that would be fascinating to witness first hand. I’d have to be careful of any flirting or messing around – unfortunately Isabella is a bit of a bitch and very territorial. She and I have had to go toe-to-toe more than once. But when she’s not in the vicinity, Brady has this thing, he puts his hand on my lower back, fingers sliding back and forth very lightly, caressing…gives me goosies.
Vanessa: I’m a bit of an author stalker and I love going to signings and conventions. Do you have any upcoming appearances?
Kacey: I don’t get to conventions too often. Living in Canada, and not being that crazy about traveling, I pick the cons I attend carefully. I will be in NOLA for RT in 2014 though. Hope to see you there!
