But when a group of wolf shifters break into her clinic and demand she save the life of a packmate, her serene world unravels. And when the wolf dies despite Kim's efforts, she's dragged into a hunt she can't control, led by a man she desperately wants to understand.

All shifters live with their beasts, but Chris "Brick" Preston's is dangerously close to the surface. And it wants Kim. Sex keeps the beast sated for now, but unless Kim can help him find a more permanent solution, Brick risks becoming a feral, banished—or put down—by his pack.

With each incredibly intense encounter, Brick and Kim grow closer. But time is not on their side. When Kim is faced with betraying the pack in order to save Brick's life, the consequences may be more than they can survive.

Someone is killing the the adolescents shifters in Fire Creek. Desperately trying to save one of their own, they bring him to the local clinic to find a new doctor has taken over. Disgraced and impoverished, Doctor Kim Sharpe hopes to start a new life in Fire Creek and leaves his past behind. Brick is a shifter with a problem and if he doesn’t get his problem under control his pack may have to take drastic measures. When their worlds collide, Kim finds herself drawn into their world and attracted to a shifter that’s a ticking bomb. Can she save him, the adolescents and herself before it’s too late?

Author Dee Carney has managed to bring a new element to one of my favorite genres. Now normally when we are talking shifters, they usually can only shift into one other being because that’s all there is, a human side and the wolf side. But here we have three sides; human, wolf and beast. Now I know wolf and beast seems a bit redundant but in this case it isn’t. The beast is a more primal, more dangerous. This beast adds a new dimension that I truly enjoyed.

I really did enjoy Kim and Brick’s story. It ran all gambits of my emotions without being too much. The whole three parts to Brick and one is broken added an exciting element on several levels. The action, the danger and the (what I thought was humorous) the temporary fix of having sex. Of course there’s more to it than just that and the race to the cure before Brick gets hurt really kept this story moving along at a fast pace. Added bonus was the secondary characters. Brick’s pack mates were entertaining and I can’t wait to see them get their own stories.

This was my first book by Dee Carney and it was a good one. The world building, drama and characters were first rate. Taming Her Wolf is a great start to a new series that I highly recommend and look forward to the next book.
