Review: Tristan & Jared (Market Garden #1,2,6) by L.A. Witt, Aleksandr Voinov

Tristan and Jared are rentboys at the Market Garden, a London club that caters to the better-off. Jared has been crushing on Tristan for months—he’s no more immune to Tristan’s cockiness and confidence than the johns, and those are just Tristan’s inner qualities.

Just as Jared’s about to chat Tristan up, a businessman asks for something a little different: he wants to book them both. They agree, and Jared finds himself going from crush to mind-bending lust as he’s made the pawn in a sexual power game.

After that first amazing—and lucrative—experience together, they find their niche as an exclusive double act. Except Tristan is less and less interested in getting money out of the johns these days. He wants his partner in crime, and he wants the seduction to be real. But is Jared just in this for the pay, or might he actually reciprocate Tristan’s feelings?

This collection includes:

- Quid Pro Quo
- Take It Off
- Payoff

Quid Pro Quo

After reading several sweet contemporary romances in a row I needed something dirty and heavy on the sex. Thank you Tristan and Jared for delivering exactly that, a very sexy read. I can easily see why Rolex had no problem paying a very heavy fee for your entertainment. I now also understand how Rolex ended up with his very own book.

Tristan and Jared are both rent boys at Market Garden. At the moment they are very bored rent boys who are both in need of johns so that they can get paid. Jared is rather new to the establishment and he is completely infatuated by the seasoned pro that is Tristan. Tristan has a nonchalance about him that matches his cat like grace and keeps Jared’s full attention at all times. This just adds to the intensity of this novella.

Since this Quid Pro Quo is strictly from Jared’s point of view I didn’t get that much of a feel on Tristan’s thoughts of Jared. It’s clear to any reader that Tristan enjoys playing with Jared. That was part of the fun with Rolex. Tristan and Rolex both enjoy the responsiveness of Jared and all that is being done to him. Reading Jared come completely undone made for a very sexy read.

Take It Off

I LOVED the contrast from Quid Pro Quo to Take It Off. They were so similar and so very different. In Quid Pro Quo the reader gets to see from Jared’s point of view just how worked up and turned on that Tristan can get Jared. Rolex is just as much in on the whole power play.

In the second installment of the Market Garden series readers get the same thing but it’s still the opposite. A small amount of time has passed and the boys have teamed up to earn some extra money at Market Garden. With Rolex’s help they discovered just how well they play together. The thing is they both enjoy it so much they secretly want to enjoy each other off the clock, away from johns, and away from Market Garden.

Before any of that can be discussed Rolex is back and he wants some of his favorite boys time. This time around Jared pulls out his sex kitten persona and runs the whole show much to Tristan’s surprise. To top all of that off this sexy lap dance is told 100% from a very keyed up Tristan’s point of view. I’m not sure how my eReader is still functioning. It should have overheated. Take it Off is a seriously hot little novella.

I’m not sure how much time has passed in the sexcapades of Tristan and Jared but they come to a head here in Payoff and at the worst possible moment. They’ve been sharing johns for a time. They figured out after just one encounter with Rolex that there was some serious cash to be made when they worked together. It didn’t take them long to see just how compatible they are at work, why not play between the sheets with each other, without the cash. On a side note, I seriously would LOVE to read that.

The first place Rolex stops when he is in town is Market Garden. He loves what his favorite boys have to offer. The previous visits have been fun so of course that is what Rolex is looking for. They have kept things mixed up the previous times so Rolex has what he believes is another fun way to mix it up with Jared and Tristan, and it puts Rolex in a more hands on position. The problem is that while he has been away things have changed a little for Tristan and Jared even though they haven’t exactly figured that out on their own.

Reading this little trio of shorts and watching Tristan and Jared some apart for completely different reason each time as been a pleasure. The coming apart this time was for a completely different reason and it worked so well with where their lives are going.
