Review: Vampire Prince by S.J. Frost

For three years, Sebastian has lived as a blood slave, giving his blood and body to vampires. He’s a prisoner, owned by the blood house he serves. Sebastian dreams of freedom, of feeling the sun and wind on his face once again.

Valentin has earned the title of vampire prince. But status and age haven’t brought him love. When his blood craving grows too demanding to be ignored, he goes to the blood house and finds himself entranced by the spirited Sebastian.

Their passion is strong, their connection to each other undeniable. Sebastian wants to be Valentin’s, and Valentin wants to keep Sebastian—forever. The danger of giving the blood slave his freedom is high and the price might be both their lives.

This m/m vampire romance is a thrilling and mesmerizing read.  Forced to live as a blood slave, Sebastian dreams of freedom and sunshine though he has little hopes for either. Until Valentin visits the blood house, he’s a vampire prince and different from the other vampires and their attraction undeniable, but gaining Sebastian his freedom might cost them both their lives.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps the readers shivering in anticipation with lots of drama, action, suspense and romance. The author brings the story to life with well written words, vivid images and details.  The characters are strong and compelling, easily related to and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning.

The chemistry between Sebastian and Valentin explodes from the pages and the frequent sex scenes scorch the reader with intense heat.  The romance starts off fairy strong and only gets stronger, but with every relationship there are complications. In this case a couple small emotional issues to be dealt with and the main complication of fighting for their lives against the enemies they made when freeing Sebastian.

The action and battle scenes are well written and believable and the story has great supporting characters that are also intriguing and have the reader wanting to know more.  The tension builds as the Sebastian, Valentin and their friends wait to find out what the enemy is up to keeping the readers in spine tingling suspense.  The world that the author has created is also intriguing with some unique elements that make for a refreshing change and I really like how she handled the vampire hierarchy.

This is a stand alone story that the author hinted could possibly have a sequel. Well I certainly hope so, I really enjoyed this one and I am hoping to read a few of the other characters stories as well, say Sal’s (maybe with Calvin), or Baz’s or even Malcolm’s would be great or maybe she could write a story for each .
