Review: Wicked Safari (Wicked Elementals # 2) by Lisa Whitefern

To stop an all-consuming evil, they must dive headlong into all-consuming lust. Wicked Elementals, Book 2 The Reluctant Were-Lion Turned into a were-lion against his will, billionaire Arlan Leonard deals almost daily with two sources of mounting frustration: his inability to control his tendency to shift at random, and his on-again, off-again relationship with sinfully sexy alpha male Jay Nandoro. His Ambivalent Lover. Friends with Arlan since they were teens, Jay can’t deny there’s something between them. But while Arlan seems certain that committing to a sex-magic ménage with a female part-Fae will stop an evil force that’s been kidnapping half-fae children, Jay isn’t so sure. The Half-Fae Scientist August Peak dedicated herself to a life of science, determined to forget the havoc her Dark Fae mother, Duvessa, has wreaked in her life. But when her professor practically drags her to Zimbabwe to study lions in the wild, she is ensnared. The sizzling tension among the three is surely magic. But when the Dark Fae discover the threat, bullets fly on the African veldt. And coming together—mind, body, and soul—is their only chance for survival. Warning: Explicit m/m/f scenes, hot male/male scenes, steamy magic that generates an enchanted tower, poacher dodging, kidnappings, and outdoor sex on the hot African savanna.

Determined to stop the evil force that is kidnapping half-fae children, Arlan, Jay and August commit to a sex-magic menage but when the Dark Fae discovers the threat, coming together mind, body and soul will be their only chance at survival in this riveting paranormal romance.

Due to her past, August has no use for half-fae or magic. Arlan was cursed by a Dark Fae lover and is now a were-lion with no control. Jay’s past has him denying his magic and circumstances have him denying his relationship with Arlan. The reader can’t help but get drawn into the story as these three emotionally damaged people come together to save the kidnapped children, but while the chemistry is burns hot enough to make magic explode their issues are holding them back from forging a true mate relationship. The characters are strong, compelling and grab the reader’s attention as well as capture the heart and the steady to fast paced plot builds lots of tension and excitement with suspense, magic and romance.

Unbeknown to our triad of heroes, they are being betrayed and the danger escalates to the three of them as someone wants to use them for their nefarious purposes but also as the Dark Fae learn of their efforts and try to stop them. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and the well orchestrated events ensure that the readers want to know every last detail while the sizzling sex scenes including m/f/m and explicit m/m/f scenes adds lots of spice and passion to the story.

Let me say right off that I have not read the first book in this series but I had no trouble following this one and can I just say…WOW!  It is certainly not what I was expecting as the authors use of culture, myth and paranormal blends together to create a fascinating world with lots of interesting elements and intriguing characters that held me hostage from beginning to end.
