Title: Wishing For Us: A Danvers Novel
Since the loss of her fiancé, Lydia Cross has refused to allow herself to feel anything close to love. That is until corporate hotshot Jacob Hay comes to her aid outside of the Danvers International corporate headquarters and captures her attention. Too bad he doesn’t show any signs of reciprocating her feelings.
Things change when, after a rowdy Vegas bachelorette party, she wakes up next to Jacob...as his newly wedded wife! Lydia is stunned, but Jacob seems remarkably calm and isn’t inclined to end their hasty merger. In fact, day by day he gives her everything she’s been missing—especially in bed. But when the magic of Sin City fades, Lydia grows concerned she’ll find herself alone once again...

I have to say I have been on a streak of random drunken marriages in Las Vegas! I find them totally irresistible! Like The Hangover or What Happens In Vegas, I want to unravel the mystery as to what happened!
This was the first of this Danvers series that I have read- book nine, I know! But I really didn’t have any issues not having read the previous books. Yes I found that all the people from the previous books needed to be sorted as such, I figured it out, and now I wish to read their stories as well! The strong friendships seem to be the backbone, and that’s intriguing to me!
Wishing For Us is a book that was just adorable! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! I was smiling more often than not and I loved it! Jacob and Lydia are two characters that I liked! They were totally relatable and I could see me wanting to be their friend. They had a chemistry that you could easily feel. They just clicked! I liked not having any angsty-ness. There is usually some obstacle to overcome etc., etc., etc. I liked seeing how they were going to work through their hasty decision and the ramifications of it.
Lydia woke up in Jake’s room hungover and married. Apparently after commiserating about the state of their lives, they rationed a quick fix was to get married. I think it was hard to believe marriage was the fix to their problems, but given their drunken state, anything is possible. You would think that when sober heads returned, they would just get the marriage dissolved. But Jake wants to use this turn of events to his advantage. You see his baby momma wants to marry him in the worst way, and although he wants custody of his daughter, he doesn’t want to marry her mother. This might be the best thing to happen to him-if he can get Lydia to agree to stay married. Lydia meets Casey-his daughter and wants to help Jake out. Since she lost her fiancé to cancer a few years earlier, she’s barely been holding on. Jake, and his daughter, give her a reason to live and to help! She was stronger than she gave herself credit for and now it’s time to start living a life she deserves to have and if she can help Jake along the way-better for it!
I would highly recommend Wishing For Us by Sydney Landon and I am sure the entire Danvers series. It’s a nice, enjoyable, and sweet read with just enough storyline to keep you interested till the end!
