Wolf at the Door, the first novel in the Snowdonia Wolves series, is a satisfying paranormal romance by Sofia Grey. The author draws you into her world of wolf shifters with two alluring characters, Lillian Hart and Jake Bledri.
Lillian, a pop star, is taking some down time at a secluded cabin to put her life back in order after finding out her boyfriend, Kurt Anderson, is still a married man. While at her cabin, Lillian hears a scratching at her door and finds an injured dog on her front porch. She takes the dog in and takes care of its injured leg. Grateful for the company, Lillian doesn’t recognize that the large dog is really a wolf. Jake, the Alpha wolf of the Snowdonia pack, welcomes Lillian’s help and is completely surprised to discover that she is his Mate. Realizing that he cannot change into his human form just yet, Jake uses his special ability to enter Lillian’s dreams to introduce himself. In her dreams, Jake is able to show her his home and many other places. Their sexual chemistry is explosive, and the dream sex is steamy. Jake fears what Lillian’s reaction will be when she learns that he is a shifter, but he needn’t have worried. As they get to know each other better, Jake holds back on the information that she is his Mate. When they act on their sexual chemistry, Jake marks her has his Mate without her consent. When Lillian learns about the mating, she is upset because she has some lingering trust issues after her relationship with Kurt. Lillian asks Jake for some time to consider everything, and Jake lets her go. These actions by both characters appealed to me, causing me fall for both of them. While they are apart, text messages and dream visits allow Lillian and Jake to continue as friends and lovers, so when they finally reunite, their union is all that more special.
With an enticing couple and a wonderful romance, Wolf at the Door is a perfect beginning to a new series.
