Review: Fondled and Gobbled: Back for More

A bakery owner gets much more than she expected from her discount android’s determination to serve her. A lovelorn stalker does whatever it takes to have the muscle man of her dreams. Two alien warriors experience the inconveniences and pleasures of being forced into human bodies. A woman has always known she was destined to join the paranormal world of shifters, and tonight all of her dreams—or nightmares—come true.

If you’re looking for the perfect romance with the perfect hero and heroine, this isn’t it! This is a series of spoofs, parodies, just-for-fun lighthearted take-offs. It’s for all us longtime, hard-core romance readers who can laugh at the clichés, purple prose and “suspend your disbelief” plot devices that haunt our beloved favorite genre.

More Than Enough by Lea Barrymire

Gerty literally gets more than enough when she buys a discounted refurbished droid to help her in her bakery. Leven (giggles at the baking pun) is not your regular helping baking bot. He is programmed to fill some very specific needs though. Gerty soon finds herself more than willing to let this bot help with all of the bake shop (bakers) needs.

Anything For You by Cara Carnes

Persistant Persiphone is a woman on a mission. She is going to get her man and she hopes that the authorities stay out of her way. She stalks into Stone’s life the way she does most mens, with a tape measure and evasive techniques she has learned from past experiences. Stone is vastly different from the men in her past though and these two soon find out they have far more in common than either ever expected.

Human Bodies are so inconvenient by Cassandra Carr

Robotic aliens who are on a mission to take over Earth have disguised themselves as the humans they are attempting to annihilate. The different bodies have Cole and Declan experiencing wants and desires neither have ever considered. They soon find themselves with too much time on their hands not to explore the sexual possibilities of these new fleshy bodies.

Leporidae Pack by A.M. Griffin

I am the biggest nerd ever. I knew where this one was headed far before Destiny realized her wish was granted in ways she never imagined. That fact alone made this tale the funniest. Destiny is hell bent and determined to become a shifter. She has found some and now it is just a matter of time before they bring her into their shifting family fold.

I absolutely love the Fondled and Gobbled books. They poke, prod, and make fun of the cheesy paths that romances come dangerously close to. These amazing authors throw caution to the wind and bring roaring laughter to romances along with much eye rolling and snorting. These short stories are hilarious and definitely fall into the something different category.
