Review: On the Clock (Market Garden #8) by L.A. Witt, Aleksandr Voinov

When Blake Raleigh’s favorite rentboys retire from Market Garden, they’re sure their friend Jason will be a perfect replacement. Though Tristan and Jared are a tough act to follow, Blake returns to London to test out their recommendation.

Jason is right on the money. Negotiations turn him on. Getting paid turns him on. The higher the stakes, the hotter things get. Each trip to London is more expensive than the last, and the webcam sessions don’t run cheap, but Jason is well worth the sticker shock.

The more time they spend together, the more Blake wants, and not just sex and transactions. But Jason’s been burned before by men who thought they were in love with him, and he’s not making that mistake again. When the lines between personal and professional start to blur, it’s going to take more than money, jewelry, and sports cars to keep Jason from clocking out and walking away.

The deeper I get into this series the more I realize I have to find time to go back and read Tristan and Jared’s books. Tristan and Jared fans will be pleased to know that they have some very sexy page time here in On the Clock. They have both retired as rent boys from Market Garden. They loved the time they spent with their john Rolex so of course they refer him to another rent boy. This is that story.

Rolex, Blake Raleigh hates that he doesn’t get to play with Jared and Tristan any longer. He is a bit concerned about the rent boy they feel will be more than happy to replace them with. He goes ahead in seeking Jason out at Market Garden. He believes Tristan and Jared won’t steer him in the wrong direction. From the moment Jason and Blake meet the intensity of their attraction and chemistry is off the charts. Their blatant honesty and the enjoyment in what they are after made this one amazing read. Jason has an interesting money kink that works well with his bartering fetish. Blake’s professional life and his thorough enjoyment of rent boys complements Jason’s traits extraordinarily well.

Every book that I’ve read thus far in the Market Garden series has been seriously hot. On the Clock holds true on that front. Jason and Blake burn up the pages. Other rent boys are brought in to please Blake and his voyeuristic fantasies. All of the sexcapades are hot and the rent boys are treated so very well by Blake that you can’t help but want the very best for him. I loved everything I read here. The last couple of chapters are just heartwrenching and amazing and an absolute rollercoaster ride. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!

Favorite quotes:

Jason to Blake. “I’m whatever turns my partner on.”

Blake to Jason. “You’re not here as my entertainment.”

L. A. Witt

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who has finally been released from the purgatorial corn maze of Omaha, Nebraska, and now spends her time on the southwestern coast of Spain. In between wondering how she didn’t lose her mind in Omaha, she explores the country with her husband, several

clairvoyant hamsters, and an ever-growing herd of rabid plot bunnies. She also has substantially more time on her hands these days, as she has recruited a small army of mercenaries to search South America for her nemesis, romance author Lauren Gallagher, but don’t tell Lauren. And definitely don’t tell Lori A. Witt or Ann Gallagher. Neither of those twits can keep their mouths shut . . .
